This will be the only time I reference politics on this blog – I promise! Once a year politicians at the federal, state, and local levels address their constituents by summarizing their accomplishments from the past year and laying out their aspirations and plans for the next. Since we are just starting out here at To The Next 40 this inaugural State of the Blog post will be exclusively forward looking however subsequent editions will include a retrospective element as well.
Our main objective for 2022 is to establish a solid foundation by publishing content pertaining to the three pillars of the blog: self-care, finances, and interpersonal relationships. In the coming weeks I will start with overviews for each of these topics. More specifically I’ll delve into why I am passionate about them, describe the connections between the pillars, and a preliminary listing of content the reader can expect going forward. By seeding the conversation with an initial perspective visitors will be encouraged to engage and participate in the dialogue via comments. Through informative long-form articles and vibrant discussion I hope to build up a critical mass of readers as measured by site visits and subscribers.
In alignment with the vision here at To The Next 40 we strive to make the majority of the content available to the masses. However for those of you with the means and interest in supporting me on this endeavor you’ll not only receive my endearing gratitude but I’ll also provide bonus material to augment the blog posts. This last one is a little subjective in its current form so I admittedly need to rework this into a SMART goal (topic for another post!) but here goes. Did this blog help just one person whether it’s providing direction, improving their day-to-day, or just raising their situational awareness? If so I would say that this endeavor will have been worth all of the sweat equity.
I could probably go on listing more items but let’s start with some concrete baby steps and we can be more bold for next year’s State of the Blog 🙂 If this sounds like a train you want to jump on as always I encourage you to join us and together we can see where this adventure leads!
Cheers to the next 40!
